Synapsis was founded by Kristy Barker, MD, and Jared Brooks, MD, both physicians with direct experience in expert witness work and case review.
Kristy Barker, MD
Co-Founder
Kristy is a board-certified internal medicine physician with extensive clinical experience and a central role in expert case analysis and review.
Her experience highlighted how valuable professional judgment can be outside of traditional clinical settings—when experts have the autonomy to engage on their own terms and the clarity to navigate the legal process with confidence.
Together, they built Synapsis to reflect the realities experts face, not assumptions made by third-party intermediaries.
Jared Brooks, MD
Co-Founder
Jared is a board-certified forensic pathologist with extensive courtroom and case review experience. Testifying as an expert is a formal part of his professional training and practice.
Through years of collaboration with attorneys and firsthand exposure to expert witness systems, Jared developed a clear understanding of where credibility is often lost—and how platforms can either support or undermine expert work.
